About the event
Our Friend Thomas by Jesse A. Lowe is a moving and darkly humorous play that centers on
a group of friends as they rally around Thomas, a former nurse and widower, after he is
diagnosed with rapidly progressing dementia. As Thomas’s memory and independence
fade, his chosen family must confront the emotional and ethical complexities of caregiving,
the shifting boundaries of identity, and the impact of dementia on both the individual and
