Oil Painting
Wed. 1-3 PM
Oil Painting is for the person who loves color, is interested in perfecting a talent or just starting a new hobby. If you don't feel you have talent, you may be surprised to unleash your inner creativity. Once you experience techniques such as how to apply color, transfer images to canvas, understand values and many more, you will find oil painting to be a wonderful way to spend your time. You will be exposed to understanding how to critique a painting and will have an opportunity to submit your own work in an exhibit. Painting, a solo pursuit, is much enhanced by the social aspect of classroom activity. We all have fun as well as enjoy the support from other students and important guidance from the instructor. The art teacher, Dortha Jacobson, has been teaching art for many years. She is a graduate of Temple University with a M Ed in Art Education. She is a member of the Athens Art Association and the Plein Air Group.
